Ask Scarlette a Question   Submit Your Do's!   I'm Jessica. I'm a 21 year old stylist at an Aveda concept salon in Seattle, Washington. This is where I post my work, the work of others, submissions, tutorials and inspiring do's.

Want me to do your hair? I work at Kismet Salon and Spa in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. Make appointments with me Tuesday through Saturday at 206.860.0323, and remember that I go by my real name, Jessica.

I still make house calls, so contact Jessica at jessica.hairitic@gmail.com for on site styling. Pricing is low, but based on a consultation.

I credit your photos, guaranteed. If I have not, the credit was not available, or just linked to some guys blog. And why would some guy deserve credit?

iremembereverykiss asked: I cut my hair short this past November so it's a little grown out by now. I have a whole bunch of friends' birthday parties coming up and I'd like to do something a bit different with my hair, I usually just curl it into a little afro cos I don't know what else to do with it! My hair is longer on top and shorter on the sides. I'm open for any ideas as long as they make my hair look a bit bigger than it really is:D (wearing it flat makes me look kinda masculine) Thanks in advance, love this blog!

Thanks for the love!

Basically I’m in your perdicement right now. Growing it out and still being able to have a cute style is really difficult to not get too fed up with. I’ll start posting some different ways to wear shorter hair!

Some things to remember are to try different techniques with product. Try wearing it straight or just wavy to vary your texture, then play with some medium to firm hold paste, clay or pomade to get it to hold and lift better. With it being longer it’s difficult to get a lot of lift in your roots so don’t be shy with the products!
